# Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) and Solar PV installation for Six Retrofit Eco4 Funded Houses

Location: Thurrock, Essex

Oakray Renewables designed and installation the ASHP and PV for Six Retrofit Homes. The Retrofit included full upgrade from precast concrete building with little or no insulation to a modern insulated comfortable homes with heating and onsite electricicty generation. The clean electricity is provided by a 4.8 kW PV Solar System and the heating and hot water from a 8kW ASHP.

98.5% reduction in Co2 for heating and hot water, that’s a saving of 2,986 kg Co2/yr

Installed capacity: 4.8 kW  
Panels: 430W all black panels  
Estimated generation: 3972 kWh/year  
South Aspect

###### ASHP

House Size: 81 m2  
Heating demand: 51w/m2  
Estimated Energy Usage: 4,200 kWh/year for space heating and hot water.  
Running costs in first year: £1,265 (based on 30p per kw/h, excluding savings from PV system).  
Specification: 8kw air source heat pump, with unvented cylinder. Heating via radiators sized to suit the rooms.
